Loke Yew Choong, 34, deceived his victims, including his childhood friend, into believing that he was still with the store and was able to purchase bags for them at a 40 per cent discount.
He induced them to place orders for the items, which amounted between S$600 and S$7,000, each time.
Loke pleaded guilty to three charges of cheating.
Four similar charges were taken into consideration.
Loke committed the offences between July and October, last year.
He used the money to pay off his personal debts, instead of buying the bags for his victims.
He has since made restitution of about S$3,000.
For cheating, Loke could have been jailed up to 10 years and fined for each charge.
